Cesium gives Windplanner international recognition!

Cesium article

Windplanner, an cesium certified developer, provides a powerful tool for visualizing renewable energy projects. Using CesiumJS, Windplanner allows users to see what wind turbines, solar panels, transmission lines and energy storage systems look like in their environment.

Windplanner visualizes the future of renewable energy with CesiumJS. Cesium wrote an article on May 2, 2023 about how we visualize the future of renewable energy at Windplanner. Below is a brief summary from the article:

International recognition for Windplanner tool

International recognition for the Windplanner tool that provides both 2D and interactive 3D views, incorporating buildings, site elevation, trees and existing and proposed energy infrastructure. By presenting clear and realistic images of the changes, Windplanner helps to address concerns and gain acceptance & support for local renewable projects.

To create accurate visualizations, Windplanner uses panoramic photos from various sources, such as user libraries or suppliers such as Google Street View. These photos are combined with Cesium World Terrain to provide detailed and up-to-date representations of the project areas. Users can select predefined turbine models or customize their own, adjusting parameters such as shaft height, rotor diameter, wind direction and color. They can also set specific dates and times to evaluate shadowing effects caused by turbines or solar panels.

International recognition: Geospatial content

Windplanner uses Cesium OSM Buildings and Bing Maps Aerial imagery to provide geospatial context. The tool enables collaboration between initiators, residents and decision makers by enabling the sharing of interactive viewpoints. Users can present suggested layouts and locations and even experience the projects in virtual reality for even more immersion. Leveraging the capabilities of Cesium, Windplanner improves visualization and communication for energy projects worldwide by providing real-world data for discussion and decision-making.

Experience

We at The Imagineers are active worldwide in more than 23 different countries, with which we have already done more than 4000 projects. This around visualizations of impactful environmental changes for stakeholders involved. Many project developers know how to find us to visualize the honest picture, because that speeds up the discussion. This ultimately also speeds up their project.
