Visualization process, commissioned by the combination Mourik Infra BV en FL BV were we from The Imagineers a Stakeholder engagement platform for the dyke improvement at Beesel and Heel.
The dyke improvement at Beesel and Heel is an important project to guarantee the safety of the surrounding area. The dikes in this area protect the hinterland against flooding, but were no longer able to withstand rising water levels as a result of climate change. For this reason, the dikes have been reinforced and raised.
The area participation was an important part of this project. It was important that the residents of the area were involved in the plans and gained insight into the impact of the work on their environment. The Imagineers has developed an Area Participation Platform for this purpose. On this platform, residents could view the locations as they look now and what they will look like after the dyke reinforcement. This gave residents a realistic picture of the changes that would take place in their environment.
The plans for the dyke improvement were aimed at preserving and strengthening the cultural-historical, recreational and ecological values of the area. This was done by using local landscape elements and native tree species. By carrying out the dyke improvement in this way, the natural beauty of the area is preserved and enhanced.
The Stakeholder Engagement Platform with the visualisations was an important means of involving the local community in the plans for the dyke improvement. This platform gave residents a good picture of the changes that would take place and allowed them to provide their feedback and suggestions. This contributed to a successful and widely supported implementation of the project.
