Expansion of Ecopark De Wierde

The Ecopark de Wierde near Heerenveen is being expanded and we were asked by Renate van Opzeeland of Omrin to visualize this. The park acts as a showcase of circular economy and offers a range of facilities and activities aimed at minimizing waste, maximizing recycling and encouraging environmental awareness. With innovative facilities, educational programs and a strong emphasis on sustainable development, it is an inspiring place that invites visitors to discover a sustainable future.

We have set up the Area Participation Platform for two information meetings in December 2023 to provide insight into the changes at ground level. We have also created an animation that provides insight into the phasing in six steps. Both expressions use the same map layer and 3D information such as buildings and plants.

These meetings were organized for local residents and interested parties to inform them of the plans as outlined by the landscape architect. Interested parties could also view the environment in Virtual Reality to get an even better idea of ​​the future Ecopark.

If I could give the Area Participation Platform a grade, it would be a 9. The visualizations also helped us a lot in presenting it.
